Abstract
All available population studies show that dietary coconut oil does not lead to high serum cholesterol nor to high coronary heart disease mortality or morbidity rate The cholesterol lowering effect of EFA-rich corn oil may really not be so beneficial inasmuch as the HDL-cholesterol is simultaneously decreased and the ratio of cholesterol or LDL to HDL is thereby increased.(Summary)
